Bie’s Ordination into Monk-Hood (July 3, 2010)

To all Buddhists,

Men are encouraged to ordain into monk-hood at least once in his life time. It is considered to be one of the most important event in his life.  It’s a process that a son can earn lots of good karma quickly.   

Why phra Bie went into monk-hood?

Phra Bie said he went into monk-hood to thank his parents for being his parents, for raising him and take care of him.  He is also doing it for himself so he can learn more about meditation, learn to discipline himself and also to have to deeper understanding of Buddhist  teaching.

the morning after… phra Bie went outside the temple to accept food offering

Accepting food offering…  he would go out and accept food offering every morning.

Monks can’t cook for themselves.  That’s why they have to go and accept food offering from people.  People can offer anything they like.  Monk only eat twice a day, breakfast and lunch. They can not eat dinner.  phra Bie went into monk-hood for 10 days in 2010.
